This post has nothing to do with actually saying what works. I just list up the questions that I have faced during my time trying to "sell" stuff. I'm not good at sales IMHO. I'm more of a create new things kinda guy.
So among the questions that I get are (the ones in bold are the ones I hate the most):
- Does it really work?
- Will it really increase my revenue?
- How DOES it work?
- Any case studies? Who has been using this, and what did they get from it?
- Why WOULD this work?
- What the hell is this thing?
- I've heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of mine that he's using this and he got a few gazillion billion dollars out of it. How does HE do it?
- How else can I use this thing?
- I have this that and I'd like to know how your product can fit into my business model. In fact, can you do all of this for me?
- How much ROI can I get from this?
- Tell me how YOUR product differs to the other few billion services out on the internet.
- How come you don't have this and that feature that these other dickwad companies have? Isn't this supposed to be a standard feature for a product like yours?
- What kind of pre-installed knowledge do I need in my tiny brain for me to use it?
- Why the hell is your product so fucking expensive?
- Do I get any perks out of your product?
- Does it come in red?
Please bear in mind that even if I'm having the title of "Business Manager", I'm still human. Fuck work, fuck sales, fuck everything for all I care. I treasure more of myself and my family rather than my job (well, at least the past few years made me think so).
So not all sales people are naturally born with a product that they believe in, or at least, be brainwashed into believing so. In fact, I believe the product is good, but only in certain cases. And its just good in certain areas.
But there's a lot to be wished for the product itself. Automation (since I was an Engineer, I believe robots, machines and computers should take over the world), Intelligence, Mutation, Augmentation, Socialization, Integration, and Stupidification (if there is a word like that. The evolution of KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid).
I believe in non-human interaction, or at least, let the computer do it for you. Not YOU. Take out the human factor from all processes because humans error, and what processes don't need are errors.
And to error is to be human.
