So anyway, I have a phone. The iPhone4 which I bought on Dec 1, 2010 (Released June 24, 2010) after I was robbed at parang point.
I bought it for RM2,480 at a shop in lolyat.
It actually doesn't have any issues minus the unresponsive home button and some random app crashes here and there, mostly caused by the jailbreak I did, or running out of memory or anything else.
Also the slow response of the phone.
Also the inability to play 720p animu.
So yeah, I've been thinking about getting a new phone for a while now.
I also remember that I've always felt like getting a new phone whenever I update the iOS to a newer version. Nowadays thats not the case because I'd be losing my jailbreak and my home button would be rendered useless. Well, it's useless now, but the jailbreak I have right now solves quitting apps by using gestures, which I kinda like.
So anyway, I'll just list down what apps I usually use on the phone first, then we'll know what kind of phone I'll be needing.
In order of supposed heavy use:

|
Gimmick apps that I've only used a few times or don't use anymore but keep them handy:
|
|
And also games, which I've deleted some a few months ago:
|
Btw, tables FTW!
So taking into consideration the heavy use apps and games, the phone I'll need has to be:
MUST items:
So therefore, the obvious? choices that I have on the market for me right now are:
MUST items:
- SD slot. I need this because I have lots of media to consume (animu and music)
- a slightly wider screen to watch yutiup, nicodouga and animu
- dual or quad processor to play 720p
- Japanese input. MUST.
- Consolidated email app because I have hotmail, yahoo, yahoo Japan, gmail and other email addresses on my phone (I have 9 email accounts tied to my phone now).
- Virtually no lag when multitasking.
Things that I can live with:
- preferably LTE for fast speed. 3G is okay. Come to think of it, LTE coverage is still meh for celcom right?
- has an OK camera
- apps easily accessible. lesser taps to access is better.
- since I use it to socialize, social notifications is a must (there's an app for that).
- GPS my way everywhere.
- clocks. alarm clocks. which work by playing random music every morning so I don't get accustomed to sleeping in when listening to the same alarm every morning.
- fast access to google search.
- customizability of my phone (which iPhone doesn't have).
So therefore, the obvious? choices that I have on the market for me right now are:
- Samsung Galaxy S4
- Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE
- Samsung Glaaxy S4 Google Play Edishun
- HTC One
- Sony Experia Z/SL
- Nexus 4 (no SD-card)
So yeah, thats just about it. Maybe next I'll do a comparison on the phones mentioned above.
